Hi! welcome to my blog! this blog is created to give info about our Malay traditional sports that nearly forgotten by the youngsters. Okay for the first traditional sport, i decided to choose Galah Panjang. What is Galah Panjang? Galah Panjang is a traditional games played outside the house. This game not only played by children, but as a show at the cultural festivals is sometimes shown to tourists by the adults. This game is not played as individuals, but the two groups. This game is Consists of the attacker and the defending team. Each team has a player is not less than a total of four people and usually consists of ten players.
One of the members of that group will be appointed as the head and the other is for crew only. Duties as head of the group are to monitor each of the attackers entering and leaving the arena, which is along the lines beginning, the middle line and the line around the field. While the crew take care of only horizontal lines on the court. Before the game started a vote by “wan tu som” conducted by both the team leader. The winning side will be the attacking team. Setting the switch turns the calculation will be determined in advance, if only to nudge the body to catch the player or players.
